    Took long enough

We need to fire Ken King as well. The entire time he has been with Calgary the Flames have been losing. I think he’s a huge reason Calgary is in it’s current position. The sooner we fire King the better it will be for the Flames.

        How about Pierre McGuire??

GOOD ! … NOW GO JOIN A GYM SOMEWHERE FEASTER !!!

  2. fingers777 - Dec 12, 2013 at 12:21 PM

Wow, Madman Burkie just couldn’t have someone other than him to take the spotlight!

    • eggserino - Dec 12, 2013 at 12:41 PM

Your focus on Burke here is misguided. Feaster has fouled up the Flames for three-plus years now.

Burke built a Cup winner in Anaheim, a solid team in Vancouver, and put Toronto back on track. It’s not his fault that T.O. is the toughest market to be involved in professional hockey. Burke will make Calgary a competitive team in the west in five years. Watch.

Burke sued five commenters he didn’t like for defamation. Watch out fingers777.

He actually won that as well.

  3. bucrightoff - Dec 12, 2013 at 12:30 PM

Bizarre timing. Why not fired him back in June? Its not like you can be upset with their record considering the talent level thats there. So why now and not in the offseason?

Ray Shero strikes again!!! First Joe in Dallas and Jay in Calgary.

the day they brought in burke, feaster had the missus start packing…

daryl sutter did something unusual, he cracked a smile…

then he started conjuring a home grown alberta homily with sublimnal undertones that begin with eff and end with you

  6. crazemastercraze - Dec 12, 2013 at 12:31 PM

    Why now?

  7. jasminedonut - Dec 12, 2013 at 12:32 PM

    Sather next?

  8. withseidelinn - Dec 12, 2013 at 12:32 PM

If Burke takes over GM duties, we will for sure see some bold trades.

i’m hungover, please explain the shero connection

    • pitpenguinsrulez - Dec 12, 2013 at 1:43 PM

Lol…basically I’m saying there’s another GM, in Jay, that Shero has done a trade with only to get fired.

Wish the rangers would follow suit and fire Sather

i agree completely, though the turnaround may be quicker…

i see a lot of the flames, and there’s already been a change in the hockey; hartley’s a great acquisition and younger players will thrive…he’s tough but he backs his guys to the end…when they learn to tighten-up through full games, wins will come

i think flames are looking at burke to elevate respect for the organization, if not through better management practice, certainly through the network within which he’s seen as a player. feaster’s a decent man, but i’m not sure he’s viewed as being a man of consequence in the game

burke is a man of consequence, and he’s a straight shooter in a place where anything else draws snorts of derision, then a noose…burke too backs his guys, if they earn it

feaster made technical blunders, not the least of which was treating iginla like so much meat. jarome, even in his failings to bring a cup, was the ideal player to promote into management, representing the face of things in calgary when they were good. he should have been kept, damn the cost…

the iginla love-in when bruins were in town sharpened ken king’s axe, to be sure…

jarome will be coming home, book it

Feaster should have got the boot long ago but I’m not a fan of how Burke wants to build his teams. He got lucky with all of the skilled big skaters he had in Anaheim. They don’t grow on trees. We’ll see how this all works. I really wonder which GM he is going to hire.

    • bullwinkle88 - Dec 12, 2013 at 1:26 PM

Darcy!!! He’s 10x better than Feaster.

    • eggserino - Dec 12, 2013 at 4:18 PM

I don’t know about that, dude. The Kings and Bruins might disagree that the way Burke built the Ducks doesn’t work. Additionally, the Sharks are having a pretty good run as well as the Blues with a big-team mentality…

      • storminator16 - Dec 14, 2013 at 10:50 PM

True. However, Burke got lucky…once. His track record as a GM speaks for itself.

  18. metalization1 - Dec 12, 2013 at 1:41 PM

We need to fire Ken King as well. The entire time Ken has been in Calgary we have been losing. Until he’s gone Calgary will continue to lose. The sooner we fire King the better.

    • atwatercrushesokoye - Dec 12, 2013 at 1:54 PM

Not entirely true, he took over in 2002-03, and really outside of the 2003-04 run ( on his watch) the Flames have been mediocre to bad since 1988-89.

With that being said, I completely agree, King has hired 3 GM’s (Button, Sutter, Feaster) and I can’t even remember how many coaches, he turned the business of the team around and the fact they have 19,289 tickets sold every night is a credit partly to him, but his time as a hockey guy needs to be done, which seems to be why they brought Burke in.

      • metalization1 - Dec 12, 2013 at 2:15 PM

Well said, I do agree with you that he helped sell tickets. But I don’t consider King to be appart of the cup run because that team was in the works by the time he was hired. Then he got his hands in the cookie jar and things went down hill, amongst many other reasons. I think we really need change and getting rid of him will help with our rebuild.

gotcha, the synapsis aren’t firing on all eight cylinders just yet…oooooh oooh

teams do that as well…when wings were at their best with bowman particularly and babcock, they often left coaches and managers looking for work in the wake of a precision bombing run

i think hawks are going to help fill-out a few soup lines before this season’s carnage is complete

  20. jaybyrd99 - Dec 12, 2013 at 3:06 PM

The rangers finally fired sather after 14 worthless years …oh crap wrong team. a fan can only wish
