Watch: ‘Hawks-Flyers heats up early as Simmonds, Brookbank scrap

Dec 11, 2013, 8:43 PM EDT

It didn’t take long for Philadelphia and Chicago to get after it on Rivalry Night on NBCSN.

Less than two minutes into the first period, Flyers forward Wayne Simmonds engaged in a spirited bout with Chicago’s Sheldon Brookbank, setting the tone for what’s shaping up to be a physical affair:

The Flyers would open the scoring with seven minutes remaining in the period, when Jakub Voracek connected on the power play for his fifth goal of the year. Marcus Kruger was in the box for Chicago after taking a holding the stick penalty.

Halford, I’ve got a “creative way” you could help encourage player safety by affecting the flavor of hockey culture. BUT…. there’s a bit of a paradox here. Am I going to click on the next fight video headline? Yeah, that’s the thing. I am.

Simmonds with the win! As a non fan of either team, will you blackhawks fans learn how to read! What does the heading read?

“Hawks-Flyers heats up early as Simmonds, Brookbank scrap”

Wow, how quick the Hawks enviers are to raise a non-issue. Did you ever consider that blackhawks2010 was referring to the 1st comment? Guess you just could not let an opportunity to cheap shot go by.

Hawks have won their last 3 games by a combined score of 19-6 in case you’re interested;)
