L.A. Kings forward Colin Fraser left Wednesday’s game against the Toronto Maple Leafs early in the second period and did not return.

After the game, which L.A. won 3-1 over the host Toronto Maple Leafs, Kings’ head coach Darryl Sutter was quick in disclosing the nature of Fraser’s injury, saying simply that his player “got his bell rung,” according to Joe Yerdon of ProHockeyTalk and NHL.com.

The hit that knocked Fraser out of the game occurred in the second period, right near the Toronto bench. As Fraser went to absorb contact and play the puck with one hand on his stick, Frazer McLaren drove the Kings’ forward hard from the side and into the boards.

It appeared Fraser, who went almost back-first, hit his head on the boards. McLaren wasn’t penalized on the play.

Later in the period, Jordan Nolan challenged McLaren to a fight, with the two exchanging some wild blows, none of which seemed to really connect.
