Video: Flames’ Hudler scores overtime winner

Calgary Flames v Anaheim Ducks

at Honda Center on November 29, 2013 in Anaheim, California.

This chapter of the Battle of Alberta went to the Calgary Flames.

Jiri Hudler scored the overtime winner to give the Flames a 2-1 victory over the Edmonton Oilers on Saturday night, giving them three victories in their last four games.

After racking up eight goals against the Colorado Avalanche on Thursday, the Oilers’ offence couldn’t break through against Calgary. Taylor Hall tied the game with 11 seconds remaining in regulation, but the Oilers managed only eight shots in the final 23 minutes and 14 seconds of play.

The Oilers also lost defenseman Jeff Petry, who was injured on a Sven Baertschi hit in the second period and did not return.

“That didn’t look good and I’m not expecting it to be great news,” said Oilers head coach Dallas Eakins, according to Gene Principe.
