The San Jose Sharks have assigned forward Matt Pelech back to the Worcester Sharks in the American Hockey League, as per David Pollak of the San Jose Mercury News.

In six games with the Sharks, the 26-year-old Pelech has one goal and 22 penalty minutes.

Coming back to the Sharks are a pair of forwards from Worcester – center Freddie Hamilton and winger Matt Nieto – as per Pollak and the AHL transactions page on the league’s website.

The Sharks have lost their last two games, after going on a six-game winning streak through the end of November into the beginning of December.

Nieto had a 5 point night in the AHL, please never send him down again

Agreed, but if it’s a choice between having him sit in the press box in SJ or gain confidence and real minutes in Worcester, then I’ll go with Worcester. Left wing is pretty crowded in SJ right now. I’d rather have Nieto than Havlat in the lineup, but I’m guessing that mentality doesn’t prevail for everyone making the decisions.
