Video: Foligno scores between-the-legs game-winner for Columbus

Dec 3, 2013, 9:39 PM EDT

If the spin-o-rama was the trendy and flashy goal that delighted some and infuriated others last season, then the early nominee for that honor in 2013-14 is the between-the-leagues number.

Tomas Hertl‘s delightful/polarizing bit of style will own the highlights, but Nick Foligno added his own contribution. Grumpy folks might be pleased to hear that it was a key goal, too, as it was the deciding marker in the Columbus Blue Jackets’ 1-0 win against the Tampa Bay Lightning on Tuesday:

Perhaps that will take some of the sting away from Sergei Bobrovsky‘s injury?

    Absolutely unbelievable.

That was sick. Foligno is a good hard-nosed player for them who can score. Doesn’t get talked about a lot.

Also, Ryan Johansen is having an awesome season. I think he’s kind of this year’s Cody Hogdson. He does a little bit of everything, and a great pass on this goal

    That’s dirty dangles.

He had way less time to pull that off than Hertl too.. I’m surprised he even had time to think of doing it

If you pay to see a game and only see one goal, you hope it’s for your team and you hope it looks like that.

The skill of these guys never ceases to amaze me. Foligno makes it look so effortless.
