Video: Canucks’ Bieksa fights Rangers’ Boyle, then kicks Boyle’s helmet

Nov 30, 2013, 6:22 PM EDT

The game was over, but the fight was just getting started.

At the conclusion of the New York Rangers’ 5-2 win over the visiting Vancouver Canucks, defenseman Kevin Bieksa fought Brian Boyle in a scrap that didn’t seem to want to end. Both combatants continued exchanging shoves and grappling with each other once the linesmen moved in to break it up.

As both were finally separated, Bieksa grabbed Boyle’s helmet and punted it across the ice. Both players were assessed major penalties for fighting.

If I re-call correctly, this is the same idiot who last year in the playoffs said real Canadians don’t take dives. Apparently, they kick helmets across the ice after their team gets their arse kicked for 60 minutes. And no, I don’t hate Canadians, I just think this guy and the Cannucks as a whole are a bunch of whinners.

    • slobberface - Nov 30, 2013 at 9:48 PM

Aren’t you whining, right now?…..The guy kicked a helmet. Who cares?

  2. jason9696 - Nov 30, 2013 at 6:39 PM

    Kevin Bieska is a clown.

    • joey4id - Nov 30, 2013 at 7:25 PM

no! no! It’s called policing the game. Let the boys regulate the game with fights, and actually pump up the boys for a come back. How did that work?

  3. drewzducks - Nov 30, 2013 at 6:54 PM

From the franchise that brought you the likes of Burrows the Biter and Samurai Hansen I’d expect nothing less from the always underachieving Cannots. Or maybe they never were that good to begin with. We’ll never know.

  4. drewzducks - Nov 30, 2013 at 7:01 PM

We’d all seen what a winner and champion looks like kicking a helmet. Now we know what a loser looks like doing it. Thanks Kevin.

  5. slysipops - Nov 30, 2013 at 7:13 PM

HERE IS HOW DO REALLY DO IT ………………………

  6. hockinj25 - Nov 30, 2013 at 7:37 PM

    Better than that Alabama kicker.

  7. sjsharks66 - Nov 30, 2013 at 7:58 PM

Boyle needs to learn to fight back. He just hugs everyone that challenges him.

    • cybernetikghost - Dec 3, 2013 at 3:52 PM

Boyle is the most soft and cuddly 6’7”, 244 hockey player that ever was

  8. sanjosecupcrazy - Nov 30, 2013 at 8:08 PM

Douchebaggery at its finest. Is there anything to like about Vancouver? Seriously — from their douchebag players… to their two idiot coaches over the past few years…. to their fans, who love to burn the city down once a year when their team is eliminated…… Bieksa, the sisters, Kelser…. I think I speak for the fans of every other team in the league, Vancouver, in saying that there’s nothing better than watching you fail.

A Sharks fan always, a Rangers fan today.

    • slobberface - Nov 30, 2013 at 9:50 PM

So, you judge an entire city based on your dislike of their sports team. Douchebaggery at its finest. It’s just a game, bud.

      • sanjosecupcrazy - Nov 30, 2013 at 10:25 PM

Didn’t judge the city. LOVE Canadian people. I don’t expect others to judge the bay area based on Raider fans either. Your hockey fans, though, are obnoxious losers. We’ve had your group show up at our building a ton over the last few years and you’re the only fans we hate having down here. And it’s funny: when I talk to fans and season ticket holders of other teams, they all say the same thing about you guys.

        Wear it. You earned it.

  9. sjsharks66 - Nov 30, 2013 at 9:02 PM

You don’t speak for this sharks fan.

  10. canada2014gold - Nov 30, 2013 at 9:16 PM

Given the size difference I have to give Bieksa major credit. The above sharks fan should take a look in the mirror. Sharks are the poster boys for underachievers…..and ejaculating on the ice.

    • slobberface - Nov 30, 2013 at 9:55 PM

Don’t forget about diving, too. Oh wait, only the Canucks dive, right?

    • sanjosecupcrazy - Nov 30, 2013 at 10:19 PM

Obviously, you haven’t been watching hockey for the last five years….. or the Sharks / Canucks games recently. We had beaten you 12 times in a row before you finally one one a couple of weeks ago and swept you out of the playoffs last year.

As for the Sharks, after we swept your ass in the playoffs last year and got your coach fired (which led to you guys lighting downtown Vancouver on fire… again….), we played seven tough ones with the Kings and probably would have won the series had Torres not been Shanahanned.

Typical crybaby Cannot fan. I don’t know that there is a more sissified fan base in all of sports.

      • bigtganks - Dec 1, 2013 at 1:00 AM

And then if we had done this then maybe we coulda done that if Torres (who I’m sure you hated with the Canucks) hadn’t been so ruthlessly shannahaned!!!

San Jose hasn’t done anything. Ever. Stop bragging about them.

  11. canada2014gold - Nov 30, 2013 at 9:37 PM

So cute when Americans try to talk hockey lol.

    • sanjosecupcrazy - Nov 30, 2013 at 10:23 PM

So obnoxious when a moose-humping, maple syrup swilling Canadian tries to act like anyone that doesn’t belt a bar song out as its national anthem doesn’t know what they’re talking about when it comes to “their” sport.

Love that we’ve kept “your” trophy down here since 1993.

By the way, check the recent poll. San Jose was rated as the third greatest home ice advantage OF ALL TIME (behind the old Boston Garden and Montreal Forum). If you can clear customs, come see what a real hockey experience is like, Canada! ;-)

      • themagicman1223 - Nov 30, 2013 at 10:47 PM

You do realize that the majority of NHLers are Canadian and most of those Stanley Cup winning American teams have more Canadians than any other nationality right? Don’t get me wrong, Americans know their hockey and his argument was flawed, but yours isn’t much better.

      • sanjosecupcrazy - Nov 30, 2013 at 10:49 PM

Haha, both arguments are ridiculous! But you have to follow a ridiculous argument with an even more ridiculous argument. It’s just the rule when it comes to sports arguments. :-)

    • blomfeld - Nov 30, 2013 at 10:24 PM

As opposed to ‘know it all’ Canadians talking NFL eh ?

Listen pal … in addition to loving Americans, Elvis, and the LA Kings, I happen to also like Kevin Bieksa … and I’m Canadian and a Vancouver resident … so go stuff that in your ‘arrogant & condescending’ peace pipe !

  12. sanjosecupcrazy - Nov 30, 2013 at 10:27 PM

If it walks like a Canuck and talks like a Canuck….

  13. canada2014gold - Nov 30, 2013 at 10:51 PM

Yeah I watch the sharks too just can’t seem to find a year in the playoffs they made it past the 3rd round. They are a joke of a franchise. Regular season wonders, wait till there aging core finally goes. Scary to think what there attendance will be then. Stick to bombing the Middle East and getting fat, the only two things Americans are good at.

    • sanjosecupcrazy - Nov 30, 2013 at 11:25 PM

Amazed that such an amazing Canadian know-it-all hockey fan would miss the fact that San Jose has now become an extremely young team, aside from Thornton, Marleau and Boyle, and will have $21 million in cap to spend once those guys leave.

Anything else you want to enlighten me on, genius?

As for what Americans are good for: Canada, besides hockey, do you want to enlighten me as to how you could claim any kind of superiority? Hockey? Health insurance? Moose population? Shivering? Really now, if you want a border skirmish, I can gladly go there. After all, if it wasn’t for us, you would have all been speaking German since the mid-40s. LOL…

  14. canada2014gold - Nov 30, 2013 at 11:09 PM

I will acknowledge there is Americans that know hockey but they are few and far between. Lol I am not and would never be a canucks fan but a sharks fan saying the canucks are a joke is too funny. The arrogance of Americans is priceless. “Our” trophy is in Toronto behind glass your teams are holding a knockoff, you would know that if you weren’t….well American

    • sanjosecupcrazy - Nov 30, 2013 at 11:29 PM

Oh, Canadian fan, thanks for enlightening us, eh hoser? You guys are so nice…….. until your hockey arrogance emerges. I know you all come out of the vagina with a hockey stick in your hand, but to think that somehow hockey knowledge and passion is a birthright of your country only is the same logic that makes you think that Bryan Adams, Celine Dion and Justin Bieber are quality entertainment. Thanks for your imports.

  15. blackhawks2010 - Nov 30, 2013 at 11:12 PM

    Canucks season over, pathetic.

  16. canada2014gold - Nov 30, 2013 at 11:35 PM

Health insurance, natural resources, goverment that is not bankrupt, loved around the world, not over populated, not racist, not overweight, jobs, oh and I almost forgot, the most gold medals at the 2010 Winter Olympics. Including a gold medal in men’s hockey, ouch. Does that still sting!

    • sanjosecupcrazy - Dec 1, 2013 at 12:01 AM

You know what’s funny? You can actually fit everything on one short list…. and you’re right: no natural resources in America. It’s a berren moonscape down here.

Only in Canada do people actually care about final medal count at the Winter Olympics. LOL…

  17. canada2014gold - Nov 30, 2013 at 11:54 PM

Lady gaga, Britney Spears and nysync well good for you. Those are tremendous accomplishments. I don’t care what teams win but who’s name are on that knock off? Mostly canadian. Oh you can have Kesler back, he’s seems to be broken and only works when he skates with swedes

  18. hawksin5 - Dec 1, 2013 at 12:22 AM

@canada2014gold. I’m a 20 year old kid. Half American, half Canadian. Born in Chicago. Playing college hockey and working in the summers for the NHL. I am VERY positive I know more about hockey than you do. Your comments about Americans being fat, and obnoxious are extraordinarily stupid, arrogant, and pathetic. I truly hope you are saying these things for the sole purpose of trolling because if you actually believe them, then you are an absolute moron. Its been quite a while since a Canadian team won the cup, enough with the “all american teams are filled with Canadians” argument, nobody said that Canadians are bad at hockey, just that Canadian teams right now aren’t good. You can’t argue that. Most gold medals in 2010? really? lets check total medal count …ouch, screwed up government? ill give you obamas an idiot..but Rob Ford… I can tell you he wouldn’t be ELECTED here. Stop with the stupid comments and troll somewhere else. Oh and as a hawks fan I can say that the Canucks are, in fact, a joke.

    • sanjosecupcrazy - Dec 1, 2013 at 12:36 AM

Wherever you’re playing college hockey, you’re my new favorite for the Frozen Four.

CanadaGold: That’s where our American universities play for…. Nevermind.

  19. mydadyourmom - Dec 1, 2013 at 12:38 AM

Good education here. The Sharks have the third best home ice advantage ever? But have never made the Cup final? Wow. All Americans are fat and racist? Who knew. Vancouver burnt down the city after a round one loss to the Sharks? Funny I live here and must have missed this. Lots of wise words here.

  20. canada2014gold - Dec 1, 2013 at 12:39 AM

Yeah that hurt, you cut to the core. Glad to see obamacare took off and your city’s and states are going bankrupt. It’s that arrogance that makes you bite off more than you can chew. See Iraqi war and Vietnam on Wikipedia. Maybe you will learn something…..”Yee Haww! I’m American I shoot what I don’t understand and print money when i can’t pay it back”. That was a quote from Bush.

    • sanjosecupcrazy - Dec 1, 2013 at 1:29 AM

Haha, just to keep you from shooting yourself, you point the gun with the open barrel end facing the OTHER guy. We learned that actually fighting for something down here.

Our national anthem references an actual battle. Yours mentions the true north being strong and free…. but doesn’t thank America for making sure of that for you. Afer all, if Greenland attacks, is the Canadian Air Force goig to [rotect all of the Moose up there?

  21. sanjosecupcrazy - Dec 1, 2013 at 1:32 AM

By the way, another Sharks win. On the home stand, 5-0, with wins against LA, Anaheim, St. Louis, Tampa and New Jersey…. and if you take avg points earned per game played, we’re first in the league.

Have fun with Torts, Vancouver. With the soft players you have, that’s a tire fire waiting to happen.

    Good night, true north!

  22. canada2014gold - Dec 1, 2013 at 1:50 AM

Yeah you fight for something alright, the right to be a joke to the rest of the world. You should change your anthem too, maybe thank us for Afghanistan. Did you get lost and just fight Iraq for the hell of it? Wait till china cashes in there chips and decides to take down the house. What is their army 3 times the size of the states??? Oh yeah and who won the last battle between Canada and the states? We did, silly Americans think the biggest gun wins the war lol is dumb and pathetic

    • sanjosecupcrazy - Dec 1, 2013 at 1:56 AM

Hey douchebag, we had terrorists fly their planes into our buildings. Those wars weren’t for nothing, you idiot. And if you did something besides shovel snow for a living, you’d understand economic theory and the fact that China won’t call in those chips because the destruction of the US economy would be just as bad for the rest of the world aas it would be for us. As for the size of the army, I understand you guys haven’t fought anything in a while, so you may not understand that wars aren’t fought by troops on the ground like they were during the battle of Moose Factory, Ontario. They use technology now. If China was dumb enough to ask for a piece of us, it wouldn’t matter how big the military was. (It’s why we’ve had to play police for the world’s problems now for years. Thanks for the 200 troops you guys commit to the cause. We’ve lost 7,000).

  23. canada2014gold - Dec 1, 2013 at 1:56 AM

Congrads on being a shark fan by the way your one of twelve thousand. Good luck with hertle and couture. When the big boys retire you will average 10 000 fans a game. It’s hilarious that they thought the southern states would support hockey. Too busy being entitled and racist to support “hawk-ka”.

  24. canada2014gold - Dec 1, 2013 at 2:05 AM

You lost 7000 because you got the wrong address dumb ass. Typical that you use body count to measure success, the arrogance amazes me. I would just take the us if I were china, they own it anyway.

    • sanjosecupcrazy - Dec 1, 2013 at 2:29 AM

You’ve tried to pass yourself off as a knowledgable hockey fan, but you obviously know nothing about what’s going on down here. We’ve been selling out for 20 years, you dumbass. Your Canadian teams are much more fair weather than Sharks fans will ever be. We keep penciling it in for the playoffs — every year since 2004 — and that’s not going to change. We’ll gladly take Couture and Hertl…. and Vlasic…. and Pavelski….. and Burns….. and Braun…. and a lot of cap room to build around. Sorry arrogant Canadian douchebag — we’re not going anywhere. I don’t know who you root for up there, but none of your superior Canadian teams have won anything since the Sharks’ second year in existence, so in the time we’ve been around, I’ll match our record against whatever underachieving Canadian franchise you want to throw out anytime you like.

As for losing 7,000, only a f***ing waste of life like yourself would diminish the memory and sacrafice of anyone, anywhere, regardless of country. Those were young men who went over to correct a growing faction of people that the WORLD — not just us — has to deal with. Look at the bombings in London, Spain, at embassies around the world. Those are kids who died to correct that. Wouldn’t expect someone as unsophisticated as you to understand or appreciate that.

  25. canada2014gold - Dec 1, 2013 at 2:41 AM

Hahahaha, what did you sell out for 5 bucks a ticket??? Free hot dog and BJ with every ticket??? A dumb goverment like yours that contracts all your labour out to Shang-wan Jap-Ina and stills wonders why most of you’re country is poor, it really shouldn’t surprise me how simple minded you are. As for me my money us on china, states can’t beat Iraq people with weapons from the 80’s and take down Vietnam farmers. God help them with a real army or navy. A war isn’t a di&k measuring contest, one day you idiots will realize they 100 years too late. Night

  26. sanjosecupcrazy - Dec 1, 2013 at 3:18 AM

They obviously haven’t spent much on their educational system up there. As for China, you already root for loser hockey teams, you might as well root for a loser country. We’re poor…. LOL…. Come visit San Jose sometime — tell me how “poor” we are. I don’t know what industries Canada has — beer, Moose fertilizer, ice cave tourism — but we have something here called “Silicon Valley.” Not too worried about our future. And as for war being a dick-measuring contest, you’re right, you idiot. We’re cleaning up something called “terrorism” that you hanger-on countries look to us to take care of for you.

I’m a little weary of your ignorance, lack of sophistication and inability to make a coherent argument, Canadian retard. I’m off this thread. Can’t wait to find you on here when the cup comes to California yet again this year. Come visit it if you like!

    And screw Vancouver.

  27. canada2014gold - Dec 1, 2013 at 3:31 AM

Bahahaha too funny. Moose fertilizer hahaha that was good. No none of that just gold, copper, silver, crude oil, natural gas, zinc and a direct shipping route to Asia. No Moose fertilizer. Oh and as for the weather check out the Okanagan and Shuswap in BC it puts SJ to shame. California is bankrupt wtf wants to go there? Rob ford is better than the terminator lol

  28. hawksin5 - Dec 1, 2013 at 3:53 AM

@Sanjose The “battle of Moose factory, Ontario”, “Ice cave tourism” LMAO I’m dyin’ over here. Just stop responding to Canada. He is the definition of an idiot and he’s not worth your time. I mean are you reading what he just said? He just asked who would want to go to California….the place with towns like Hollywood, and Beverley hills…. He then said Rob Ford is better than the governator. Which isn’t true because I’m pretty sure my dog would make a better ANYTHING than Rob Ford. BTW. We still don’t know what team Canada roots for…but If he is a HABS fan it would explain a whole lot.

  29. irokkit - Dec 1, 2013 at 1:35 PM

    Bieska sucks!

  30. canada2014gold - Dec 1, 2013 at 5:02 PM

Lol what about the battle of Iraq? Or Vietnam? All major battles you lost and convincingly. Guess what nobody wants a bunch if hillbilly incest loving rednecks to police our world. Maybe focus your energy policing your own schools and movie theaters. Love how you know zero about Canada or hockey lol. Stick to watching juiced up baseball players. But hey you got Jeremy roenick.

  31. canada2014gold - Dec 1, 2013 at 5:04 PM

By the way look at what experts say when comparing the canadian educational system to the states.

  32. mydadyourmom - Dec 1, 2013 at 10:17 PM

Canada Gold wins this argument hands down.

  33. nicknyhc - Dec 2, 2013 at 3:52 AM
