Brian Elliott has been replaced by Jaroslav Halak after the San Jose Sharks took a 4-0 first-period lead this afternoon against the visiting St. Louis Blues.

Sharks forward Brent Burns has two goals, his first coming at the 0:35 mark of the first. Joe Thornton and Tommy Wingels have the other two San Jose tallies.

The Blues have since made it 4-1 with a goal by Ian Cole.

Elliott entered the game with impressive numbers, including a 4-0-1 record and .932 save percentage.

St. Louis doesn’t play until Monday in Los Angeles, so Halak will still get a rest this weekend.
