Pens worried Bennett’s injury might be serious

Pittsburgh Penguins head coach Dan Bylsma seems concerned about Beau Bennett. He told the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review on Saturday that the young forward’s undisclosed injury will miss the team’s two-game road trip and is out “longer than days.”

(So does that mean he’s week-to-week?)

Bennett, 21, dealt with a problematic lower-body issue early this season. He scored his first goal of 2013-14 on Nov. 20 and was getting a spin in the top-six, so Bylsma seems disappointed that the sophomore will be sidetracked again.

“I thought the game in Washington was a real good game for him,” Bylsma said. “He missed a lot of hockey early in the season. Getting his feet under him, adjusting to a top-six role, he was just starting to play his best. Obviously, it’s disappointing.”

headline made it seem like they might need to amputate his leg. it sucks he a presence every time he plays but lets tone down the drama PHT

I like Beau Bennett when he plays, buy the problem is his injured A LOT. All the injures his had to deal with is really stunting his development as a player.

Extremely disappointed in you O’Brien – headline was dying for the “Beau No!” tag.

In the games that Beau has played for us since last year…I can say that I haven’t been to impressed by his play. He’s been pretty much invisible for most of the season so far. In my view Beau so far in his career has been nothing but eye candy for the girls and nothing to hot to write/talk about with his hockey play so far.

Couldnt disagree more. Bennet will be missed if he is gone an extended amount of time. Megna time again?
