From MLive.com:

The Detroit Red Wings have placed rookie defenseman Danny DeKeyser on long-term injured reserve due to a separated left shoulder that will idle him for three-to-six weeks, general manager Ken Holland said.

Holland said DeKeyser will not require surgery.

DeKeyser will miss a minimum of 10 games and 24 days. He is not eligible to return until Dec. 14 vs. Pittsburgh, at the earliest.

This is a significant loss for the Wings, currently mired in a seven-game winless streak.

DeKeyser, 23, was logging big minutes before he was injured, and he was also showing he could contribute offensively (2G, 7A), a pleasant surprise considering he never put up huge point totals during his four years at Western Michigan University.
