From the Denver Post:

The domestic abuse case of Avalanche goalie Semyon Varlamov has been given to the Denver District Attorney to review for possible charges.

The DA’s office has until Dec. 2 to charge Varlamov after an Oct. 30 arrest for kidnapping and domestic abuse allegations.

Part of the review process in determining whether charges will be filed is translating all the interviews from Russian into English, said Lynn Kimbrough, spokeswoman for the DA’s office.

Varlamov was the first star in last night’s 5-1 win over the Blackhawks, stopping 36 of 37 Chicago shots to bump his save percentage up to .931.

The Avs are in Phoenix Thursday and Los Angeles Saturday before returning home to face St. Louis next Wednesday.

Something about this case just doesn’t seem right. I have a gut feeling Varlamov is going to be cleared of the charges. Did they ever see pictures of the injured girlfriend? I for one can’t remember if they ever said they had seen visual evidence

Plus she ran to the press straight away to say her side of the story.

I don’t think she did that. I could be wrong, but I believe first she ran to the HOSPITAL, then the police, and the story made headlines that way, through the police report.

Mind you, I am not commenting on anyone’s innocence or guilt. Only those two know the truth. Just saying I don’t think it’s right make her out to be a villain any more than it is to make Varlamov a villain just yet.

Actually I was wrong there too – it was the POLICE, then the hospital, aye aye aye…who knows.

Based on that mugshot, he’ll be found guilty….of looking like a thug from an 80’s movie.

Oh please meet me tonight in the moonlight oh please meet me tonight all alone

For I have a sad story to tell you it’s a story that’s never been told

I’ll be carried to the new jail tomorrow leaving my poor darling alone

With the cold prison bars all around me and my head on a pillow of stone

Now I have a grand ship on the ocean all mounted with silver and gold

And before my poor darling would suffer oh that ship would be anchored and sold

Now if I had the wings like an angel over these prison walls I would fly

And I’d fly to the arms of my darling and there I’d be willing to die
