Koivu, Harding prove Wild are hotter than Jets

The Minnesota Wild might just be the hottest team in the NHL right now. They strengthened their argument on Sunday, eking out a 2-1 regulation win against the Winnipeg Jets, who brought a four-game winning streak into tonight’s action.

The usual suspects carried the Wild to victory.

Josh Harding won his fourth game in a row as he continues to make a Vezina run seem more and more feasible. He hasn’t lost in regulation since Oct. 17 and has only allowed more than two goals once this season (three goals allowed in a Nov. 1 win against Carolina).

Mikko Koivu scored both of the Wild’s goals, doubling his total for the season from two to four. (He isn’t slacking, though; Koivu has 17 points in 21 games.)

The good news for the Jets is that they’re hanging in there and Dustin Byfuglien seems to be getting that bounces that eluded him earlier this season. All four of his goals – including one tonight – have come in the last four games.

Wipe your drool and wait until the Jets start playing tough teams. It’s a breeze to keep winning against the bottom feeders.

uh…. where to start… first off, the Jets lost tonight, so who knows what you’re actually talking about. Second, what I think you’re probably meaning to say is that the Wild have only played and beat crap teams, which isn’t actually true. And third, the “crap” teams in the west that they have beaten would have quite competitive records if they were Eastern teams, which is quite hilarious. And fourth- aren’t you a Boston fan? Dude, have you seen how bad they are this year? Or did you not notice because all you pay attention to is Jack Edwards’ blind commentary?

The only one who needs to wipe their drool is you, lampyb.

    Sweet win for the Wild

Glad to see the Vezina mention. What I don’t see is anyone talking about Team Canada. He just happens to have the best save% and GAA in the NHL.

On the other hand, as an American, I’d say, “sure, listen to Martin Brodeur and start Luongo”.

Koivu made sure that Winnipeg cooled their Jets.

The drunk Jets fans behind us last night were hilarious — they told us that 5 of them were still passed out in the bus and couldn’t even make the game.

What does “eke out a win” mean?
