Oilers assign Klefbom to Oklahoma City in the AHL

Nov 16, 2013, 7:36 PM EDT

The Edmonton Oilers have assigned defenseman Oscar Klefbom back to the Oklahoma City Barons in the American Hockey League.

The Oilers made the announcement Saturday afternoon, just a few hours before taking on the Calgary Flames.

Klefbom is Edmonton’s first-round pick, 19th overall, from the 2011 NHL Draft.

His one-day stint with the Oilers – he was recalled on Friday, while Mark Arcobello was sent to the Barons – comes to an end without having played an NHL game.

Klefbom has appeared in 12 games with the Barons this season, recording one assist.

Are they throwing darts on the wall in Edmonton. Can someone please explain to me the Arcobello demotion? It looks insane.

They are insane. That’s about the only explanation how Arcobello goes down but Eakins’ guy Acton stays.
