It’s easy to overrate a win in an 82-game season, but it seems clear that the Buffalo Sabres’ regime change represents a breathe of fresh air for their players.

Christian Ehrhoff raved about the team’s raised spirits following a 3-1 win against the Toronto Maple Leafs.

“It definitely felt like a different team,” Ehrhoff said. “Everyone was going, everyone was competing.”

Both Steve Ott and Marcus Foligno seemed delighted about having a fresh start/clean slate. Ryan Miller seemed pleased about the team’s “good energy” after making 32 out of 33 saves.

Troubled defenseman Tyler Myers seemed downright giddy, as the Buffalo News’ John Vogl reports.

“I love the way we came out in our first game with the big changes,” Myers said. “It was definitely our most fun game to play.”

Not surprisingly, it was an emotional night for Ted Nolan, who began his second tour with Buffalo.

(In case you’re wondering, Nolan’s second most recent coaching win with Buffalo happened on May 9, 1997.)

I’m glad to see buffalo makes the big changes, that city has supported the team no matter what and really deserves better

Take it you must be a Flyers fan, Philly is the PURE armpit of the USA and even tho we don’t have a cup in buffalo we r still the better franchise and fan base……..we r also more the city of “brotherly love” than you

Actually I live just south of Chattanooga TN, so no I’m not a Flyers fan, but i do have to really break out laughing if you really think the Buffalo Sabres are the better franchise and fan base then in Philly lol

What do you call a pretty girl in Chattanooga?? A TOURIST

I’d rather live in Buffalo than live in a trailer waiting for another exciting season of Lookouts baseball.

like you’ve ever even been around chattanooga and northern georgia to make a comment like that lol… get real

      • President Charles Logan - Nov 16, 2013 at 1:06 PM

and i do admit i live in a trailer a nice doublewide modular home in a rural area its better then being subjected to ugly cold depressing winters right next to canada

How did you get he’s a flyers fan from that post. I got nothing but respect for buffalo franchise and there fans. There one of the most loyal fans in the league but how you gonna say there better then the flyers after sayin they never won a cup. We’ve been to 8, you’ve been to 3. That seems like a pretty stupid statement especially since we beat ya in the cup and have owned ya in the playoffs almost every year since. Our attendance is top 4 every year no matter what and buffalo doesnt crack the top ten. I’d say you got a long ways before you can even compare the two. I’m not even gonna touch on the city of Brotherly Love and how for some reason ya think Buffalo is more then Philly which is weird you want that title

Like Boston Buffalo is a populated by hard working people who expect and deserve the same from their hockey team Hard work and effort go a long way in hockey and I’m sure Nolan will get the best out of this group Btw I’ve spent a lot if time in Buffalo and it is a lovely city with knowledgable fans Would like nothing better than to see sabres competitive again Go Bruins

As a Washington Capitals fan, I aggressive with everything you said about Buffalo. Those fans deserve a great team with great success. You’re a proud franchise and you guys attend the games whether you win or lose.. Well said, terrier 92… And I have an offer that you can’t refuse… for 4 U.S. American Dollars, I will proofread and add necessary punctuation for your posts. :)

Good for Nolan and that team. It will be nice to have competitive games against a divisional opponent again.
