Video: Matt Duchene makes scoring look easy, but Blues blowout Avs 7-3

Nov 14, 2013, 10:45 PM EDT

We’ve seen plenty of Matt Duchene‘s skills this season, but he showed off a little extra tonight against the St. Louis Blues.

The Colorado Avalanche forward raced through the Blues defense in the third period and flicked a wrist shot past Jaroslav Halak to help cut the Blues lead to 6-2.

Check out the good hands there. That burst of speed wasn’t too bad either.

The goal was Duchene’s 12th of the season, padding his team lead in that category. Unfortunately for the Avs, it didn’t do much to rally them as they were blown out by the Blues 7-3.

    Great game by the Blues. Avs were dominating most of the 1st period, but the momentum shifted in the 2nd. It was a complete effort by all four lines, and Halak bailed them out when needed. Between the goals and fights, it was an all out win by the Blues.

    I’m no Avs fan (stolen Cup from Quebec, people from Denver are total a’holes etc.), but he is a heck of a player. Great speed and hands.

      Don’t worry, the rest of us think the same about Vancouver fans.

      Well, you know, except the part about having actually won a Cup. Ever.

    So steen scored 2 goals and added to his league lead and the blues dominated an amazing team and you focus on duchenes goal???

      I mean he only tied Crosby’s point total with a game in hand. No big deal

        Steen only leads the league in goals, no big deal..

        Someone points out that a player is ahead of Crosby in a statistical category. Auto-thumbs down. Even if it’s fact.

    @ddefran87

    Welcome to STL sports on NBC Sports Talk. Blues win 7-3, Steen scores twice, Oshie has four assists… and the headline is about an irrelevant goal towards the end if the game. How about Tarasenko’s awesome goal? Stewart’s? JayBo’s? Roy’s? Backes’? No, let’s put video up of the losing team scoring…

    Just like the Cards winning the NLCS and all the stories here were about the Dodgers and Puig afterwards.

    @jhaegs

    I couldn’t agree more I read this site a lot and there is a pattern against St Louis teams. In fact Craig calcaterra couldn’t be more of an ahole when it comes to his bias.

    Maybe it is because no one likes STL unless you are from STL?

  9. jhaegs - Nov 15, 2013 at 12:32 AM

    I refuse to read anything by Craig. He started removing my comments on his “stories”, and his articles sound like something from the National Inquirer. I’m not too far from going back to Sports Center- and that’s saying a lot.

    @sjsharks66

    I don’t live in STL…
