Ehrhoff, Leino out for Sabres tonight vs. Anaheim

Christian Ehrhoff

Buffalo will be without leading minutes man Christian Ehrhoff and forward Ville Leino on Friday night against the Ducks, the Buffalo News reports.

Ehrhoff, averaging nearly 25 minutes per game on defense, suffered a lower-body injury last night in Los Angeles in the first period of a 2-0 loss to the Kings. Leino, who played nearly 12 minutes on Thursday, is a healthy scratch.

These developments will make what was an already difficult road trip that much harder. The Sabres are off to an okay start — they beat the Sharks 5-4 in a shootout before losing to the Kings — but now must try to knock off the red-hot Ducks without two of their veteran presences.

In their place(s), sophomore Mikhail Grigorenko and rookie Nikita Zadorov will draw in.

I’ll file this story somewhere between who gives a s**t and who gives a f**k. The Sabres should bench everyone and call up the entire Rochester Americans, they’d get better results.

    Leino must be traded.

Good luck with that. Who would want him at 4 million a year over the next 4 years??? The Sabres would need to retain 3.5 million a year of his salary to make a trade happen.

And what was the reason to acquire #23 again. What a waste, been hurt from day one.
