Seventh straight loss leads to ‘yelling and cursing’ in Panthers locker room

Nov 7, 2013, 11:11 PM EST

When your team is on a seven-game losing streak, it’s only a matter of time before things blow up. Add the Florida Panthers to Thursday’s trio of teams that needed post-defeat meetings, as the Miami Herald’s George Richards describes the angry scene:

If you’re a Panthers fan looking for a reason for optimism, there’s one promising sign and one troubling bit:

Good: Tim Thomas expects to be back on Saturday, according to Richards.

Bad: The Panthers play two more games on the road, one against mighty Anaheim at home, then face a five-game road trip in the rugged West. So, to review, a team on a seven-game losing streak will play seven of their next eight games on the road.

Yikes. At least they have a five-game homestand after that run, right? (Waits for jokes about the 2014 NHL Draft …)
