Montreal Canadiens forward Max Pacioretty appears primed to return from a strained hamstring a little earlier than expected, the Montreal Gazette reports.

He’ll play against the Colorado Avalanche on Saturday, ahead of his three week schedule from an Oct. 15 injury (at least by a bit). No big surprise for a guy who’s been compared to Wolverine.

It’s a jam-packed night, as Adam Foote’s jersey will be retired and Patrick Roy coaches against the Canadiens for the first time.
