Sabres’ struggles ‘have to stop’ as they lose yet again

The frustration of poor on-ice results continues to grow for the Buffalo Sabres.

The latest installment in this already woeful start to the season came Thursday, as the Sabres fell 2-0 to the New York Rangers. Sure, the score would indicate that this wasn’t a blow-out.

But consider at the end of two periods, the Rangers had outshot the Sabres by a ratio of more than two-to-one. Sure, that improved in Buffalo’s favor by the end of the third, however the score did not.

The loss drops the Sabres’ record to 2-12-1, last in the Atlantic Division.

Naturally, members of the Sabres were saying all the right things about signifying change to their effort.

“It’s been going for a long time, and it’s going to have to stop one way or another. It’s just competing,” said Sabres’ left winger Ville Leino, as per John Vogl of the Buffalo News.

“It’s just everyone looking in the mirror and understanding how deep of a [feces] we are in right now,” added 19-year-old center Zemgus Girgensons to Vogl.

The Sabres host the Anaheim Ducks on Saturday.
