Attention hockey fans and sports gamblers — Nikolai Khabibulin, not Corey Crawford, will start in goal for the Chicago Blackhawks tonight when they host the Ottawa Senators.

Khabibulin’s last start was a tough one for the 40-year-old backup, as he surrendered six goals on just 25 shots in a 6-5 overtime loss Thursday versus the Lightning.

Per the Sun-Times, that performance drew the following remarks from ‘Hawks coach Joel Quenneville: “We’re definitely not pleased, knowing that we’re expecting more than that. Let’s move forward in a positive way, but knowing that’s not good enough.”

In two starts, Khabibulin’s save percentage is just .818.

He had the same save % as the combined total for the last 2, and was replaced by Cory C in a game the Hawks won 6-5. (4 went past the sieve).

The games he’s been in they are 1-1-1, with the lone W because he was yanked. Their next star goalie fresh outta Finland now has a rising .926 save % while he’s been adjusting to play in N. America and on our rink size.

    Likely waiver and call-up.
