Kings’ Clifford fined for kneeing Nugent-Hopkins

Oct 28, 2013, 5:40 PM EDT

Kings forward Kyle Clifford has been fined $2,756.41 for kneeing Oilers forward Ryan Nugent-Hopkins on Sunday, the NHL announced today.

That fine is the maximum allowable under the CBA and will go to the Players’ Emergency Assistance Fund.

No penalty was called on the play. Fortunately, it appeared following the game that Nugent-Hopkins had avoided a serious injury.

A kings player could be severing another team’s player’s head off behind the goal and they wouldnt get more than a small fine. LA gets away with murder and everyone knows it,

OFF WITH THEIR HEADS … THE LOT OF THEM !

@Jonbbbfromaz – Sorry friend, but I say absolute rubbish ! While there’s no denying of the fact that the LA Kings are one of the ‘it’ teams today, any accusation that there exists some sort of an underhanded ‘bias’ working in their favor is grossly naive, hideously misguided and completely unacceptable !

GO KINGS GO !!!! … TODAY, TOMORROW AND FOREVER !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

another bonehead who should not be playing in the nhl…. young stars are more important than a bonehead who clearly could have made a clean hit…
