The Buffalo Sabres keep losing players to suspensions (and keep losing games), so why not throw another injury into the miserable mix? The team announced that defenseman Mike Weber won’t return to Friday’s game against Florida because of an upper-body injury.

It appears that Weber, 25, might have suffered the injury while blocking a shot tonight.

Weber’s averaging a little more than 17 minutes per night. He hasn’t been able to collect a point in 11 games in 2013-14.

Update: Hey, at least Buffalo won tonight, though. They topped the Florida Panthers 3-1 thanks to a great performance by Jhonas Enroth.

I’m a Bruins fan and I don’t even enjoy what’s going on in Buffalo. A lot of it is brought on themselves, but they also have a sh–load of bad luck. That team needs a complete reboot and the first guy that should go is Regier, followed by Rolston and then do a mercy killing (by that I mean a trade) of Ryan Miller.

They are already doing a reboot. It started last season at the trade deadline moving Regehr and Pominville, plus firing Ruff. Unfortunately it seems that Regier is being given the chance to right the ship.

Basically because the previous owner, not the GM was responsible for the mess that Buffalo was in.
