Video: PHT Extra — Change coming to Buffalo one way or another

Oct 24, 2013, 6:52 PM EDT

We’re zeroing in on a month of NHL action, so it’s about time for the first edition of PHT Extra. Jason Brough and Mike Halford talk about questionable hits and generally questionable play in Buffalo:

After the previous lockout, when everyone spoke promisingly of “the New NHL,” I thought that goons like John Scott would soon be extinct. Unfortunately, I don’t see goons being run out of the game any time soon.

Judging by the sound quality, the opening should’ve said, “Welcome to our new location, a blue closet!”.

The Sabres are making it really hard to cheer for them. From stupid signings (like Error-hoff) to stupid play (Scott, Kaleta, etc.) and now the players are just phoning it in (see Miller comments this week), this organization is going to get worse before they get better.

    Jason & Mike,

I sincerely dig your video podcast..looking forward to more. But the sound quality is very iffy. You guys might want to have a word with “Scott the Engineer” (Stern reference).

How can these two say that there should not be 100 game suspensions? That is the minimum Rafi Torres and Todd Bertuzzi should have gotten (Coyotes STH until kids). Handing out suspensions of a season or longer is the only way to get the players to change.

They are right that the coaches need to start being fined/suspended also.

Other things to try would be to take away a roster spot while a player is suspended and fining the clubs a multiplier of what their players/coaches are fined.
