The Vancouver Canucks recalled defenseman Yann Sauve from the Utica Comets in the American Hockey League.

The club made the announcement Wednesday evening.

In four games with the Comets this season, Sauve had a pair of assists.

The 23-year-old blue liner has five games of NHL experience, all coming with the Canucks in the 2010-11 season. He is originally a second-round pick of the Canucks from 2008.

His development took a different twist last season, when he was sent to the Kalamazoo Wings in the ECHL for 32 games.

So are they going to keep using Alberts on the fourth line? The guy played one shift and was on the ice for a goal. Hansen is injured so unless burrows is back, the Canucks will be using eleven regulars up front including booth, plus Albert s.if burrows and booth both play then there will be 12 regulars.

My guess is that Booth comes in for Hansen and Sauve comes in for Alberts.

Frankly my guess is the Canucks want to see what they have in guys like Sauve and maybe even Tommernes and Polasek so they can dump Alberts for good, after the preseason he had, getting passed on the depth chart by Stanton, being pretty much completely unable to adapt to another role on the team.. what’s left here for him?

“Suave” has gotta be one of the coolest last names ever. He’s so Suave. ha!
