More tough injury news for the Edmonton Oilers — winger Taylor Hall will be out four weeks with a knee injury, according to general manager Craig MacTavish.

Hall was hurt Saturday versus the Senators in Ottawa. For the 21-year-old, it’s just the latest entry in an injury log that’s already fairly long for a player his age.

The Oilers (2-6-1) are also still without center Sam Gagner (broken jaw), and veteran winger Ryan Smyth (groin) will apparently be out for a week.

Edmonton plays in Montreal tonight before returning home to host Washington Thursday.

Even “Glass Joe” from Mike Tyson’s “Punch Out” doesn’t get injured this often

That’s the second reference to Mike Tyson’s “Punch Out” I’ve seen today. The other was on on an article about the Mike Brown trade.

He still has a ways to go to get to Rick DiPietro status though.

        One punch knockout status :)

Has the Oilers’ twitter logo always been grey? Or do they just change it to ‘half mast’ every time Hall gets injured?

It’s for the hockey fights cancer month.

You may want to change your monitor settings, that’s purple!

@ntvd7 , classic comment. But for the record I lost to Glass Joe too often. He was amazing. Ok maybe I was just horrible.

wah, wah, waaaahhh. Karma is a bear, ‘eh Mr. Hall? (referencing cheap knee-to-knee hit to Cal Clutterbuck’s last year).

that upset a lot of Wild fans, but Hall has been a dirty hitter for sometime and to a few NHLers

I wouldn’t call it Karma, but I am also not upset to see him sitting in the press box.

Oh, look, Taylor Hall is missing extended time again. Is it that time of the season already?
