Nashville Predators forward Eric Nystrom won’t have to schedule a date with the NHL for his hit on Montreal Canadiens forward Daniel Briere.

Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports reports Nystrom won’t face league action for his hit on Saturday night. Briere was knocked out of the game with a concussion, but the hit was ruled to be accidental.

Briere’s status at this time is up in the air as both he and Brandon Prust were put out of the game with separate injuries. Briere has had concussion issues in the past with Philadelphia and after a slow start this season, it’s the last thing Montreal was hoping for.

If you think that hit was anything other than an accident, you are completely delusional or completely blind. But then there is always the case that you didn’t even see the game or the hit.

It was an obvious accident. No one that plays, or knows anything about, hockey would ever consider that to be a cheap shot.

I don’t see how setting yourself up to hit someone is an accident. I also love the “people who dont play hockey” remark that is always used on PHT.

Exactly when did it become a requirement that you play hockey to state an opinion? SJS, you’re the one who appears to be ignorant.

SJS, sorry for the misread of your statement. Your correct on that but wrong it being anything but accidental.
