In his second game back from injury, Tim Thomas stood tall.

The Florida netminder was stellar on Saturday in a 2-1 shootout win over Minnesota, stopping 30 of 31 before stoning Zach Parise and Mikko Koivu in the skills competition to record his second win of the year and snap Florida’s three-game losing streak.

Thomas, 39, returned from a groin injury on Thursday against Boston, a 3-2 loss against the club he rose to stardom with during the 2011 Stanley Cup Final run. The veteran netminder had missed four games with the groin ailment.

Thomas had to be stellar throughtout tonight’s game as Minnesota applied constant pressure, especially in overtime. With just seconds left in the extra frame, Parise redirected Koivu’s pass for a quality scoring chance, but Thomas made a sliding pad save to send it to the shootout.

Jonas Brodin and Aleksander Barkov scored in regulation for the Wild and Panthers, respectively. while both Jonathan Huberdeau and Brad Boyes tallied in the shootout for Florida.
