Jets’ Setoguchi scratched against Blues

Oct 18, 2013, 8:15 PM EDT

There was an interesting development prior to puck drop between the Winnipeg Jets and St. Louis Blues on Friday.

Jets forward Devin Setoguchi was scratched from the lineup. In seven games, he has just two goals and one point.

The Jets acquired Setoguchi, 26, from the Minnesota Wild back on July 5. He has one year remaining on his current contract, which comes with a $3 million cap hit.

It doesn’t come as a surprise, but the Blues are without Maxim Lapierre, who earlier in the day, was suspended five games for boarding Sharks defenseman Dan Boyle from behind on Tuesday.

a 14 year old girl could put up points when you have line mates that consist of Thornton and Heatley (when he was actually good).

Who scratched him? Is that a penalty?

2 goals in 7 games translates to >20 in a full season, which is about what Setoguchi is good for.

The Wild were lucky to get a second round pick for Seto.

    Flat out.

A lot of Wild fans were up in arms about it-just as they were about signing Cooke this year and not signing Latendresse the season before-but they just need to watch as things work their way out.

Back in the day, some moronic Wild fans thought that signing Chris Simon was a good idea…

Dont forget about the cap space the Wild got to spend on Suter. Thanks San Jose. Suter > Burnsie
