The New Jersey Devils announced an affiliation partnership with the Elmira Jackals of the ECHL.

“We are extremely happy to partner with the New Jersey Devils and Albany Devils as affiliates,” said Jackals owner and president Nate Cook in a statement, as per the Star-Ledger.

“The entire Devils organization has a first-class reputation for success on and off the ice, and we will work extremely hard to give their prospects the proper environment to develop and advance their careers.”

    BUUUUUULLLLL SHHHIIIITTTTTT!!!!!!!

They don’t have ONE prospect that’s been developed in the last 5 years who’s had more than ONE decent season.

I thought the Elmira Jackals were the Ottawa Senators ECHL affiliate? Must be a shared affiliation since they have 4 Devils players and 3 Senators players on their team.

Ok, let’s start with all the names we all remember who either never made it anywhere, were traded away BEFORE making the NHL, or are outright busts!

    Nick Palmieri
    Nicholas Bergfors
    Matt Halischuk
    Matt Corrente
    Patrice Cormier
    Harry Young
    Tyler Ekford
    Brandon Burlon
    Vladimir Zharkov
    Jean-Sebastien Berube
    Mark Fraser

    All amounted to UGOTZ!!!

Soon to be joining this list:
    Jacob Josefson
    Mattias Tedenby
    Stefan Matteau
    Alexander Urbom

      Basically:

Lou Lamoriello came his team of scouts are finished. Out with the old, in with the new.

I remember when NY Yankee fans were worried when Steinbrenner was banned from MLB, that the team was doomed to last place finishes. Well, that was 1990. Although he was reinstated in 1993, he allowed the younger GM, Gene Michaels to make all acquisitions. The Yankees drafted or signed such players as Mariano Rivera, Andy Pettitte, Derek Jeter, Jorge Posada, and others, and traded a prospect named Roberto Kelly for Paul O’Neill, who become a personality cornerstone for the team.

Moral of the story is, sometimes it’s time to move on.

They got a lot of prospects coming up like reid Boucher who beat stamkos goal record in jrs Jon Merrill Jacob josephson . Current players like Adam henrique Ryan carter Patrick Elias Travis zajac and players that left for home town clarkson and parise

    • 950003cups - Oct 19, 2013 at 1:05 AM

Elias is the only one and he’s almost 40!

Henrique had one good year, now is useless. Josefson can’t crack the fourth line. Ryan Carter has been a healthy scratch. Zajac outright has no business as a top line center in the NHL. Clarkson had one good year. Let’s see about Merrill, Gelinas, Boucher, and Piatela. They’ll either get traded away for nothing more than an aging vet, get stuck in the AHL for life cause nobody wants to develop them, or turn out to be hype and hot air.

U may be right I still have faith won3 cups with no superstars just gotta get on a roll and get hot at the right time

    • 950003cups - Oct 19, 2013 at 1:33 AM

If not, well then maybe they can bring back the Trap and draft another future HOF goalie who dominated the game at the age of 22 till 40 while breaking almost every record. Those guys get drafted every year, right?

  7. knightsrugger29 - Oct 19, 2013 at 1:12 AM

They won’t trade this prospects Lou loves the defensemen

    • 950003cups - Oct 19, 2013 at 1:29 AM

Lou loves defensemen? Look at the defense we have now. It’s a joke! Fayne and Larsson have been healthy scratches. Urbom went for free. Corrente was a bust.

Maybe you made a typo. You meant to say “Lou loves old, slow, and overpaid defensemen” right?

Remember Colin White? The guy had one eye and Lou wouldn’t let him go. As soon as h left, his career ended.

      Lou is finished.

Missing the playoffs 3 times since 94 ain’t to bad

    • 950003cups - Oct 19, 2013 at 1:25 AM

Depends how you word it. The truth is, we’ve missed it 2 of the last 3 and are heading for missing it 3x in 4 years. What does that say?
