Dallas Stars goalie Kari Lehtonen left Friday’s game with a lower-body injury and was not going to return, according to the club’s official Twitter account.

Lehtonen suffered the injury in the second period, as the Stars were beating the Winnipeg Jets on the road. He had stopped all 21 shots he had faced to that point.

Dan Ellis came into the game in relief.

Lehtonen, 29, had a 1-1 record in two games early on this season prior to tonight.
