Avalanche captain Landeskog missed practice with leg injury

Among all the news surrounding the Colorado Avalanche in the past 24 hours, perhaps the most important for their hockey club pertains to Gabriel Landeskog.

The Avalanche captain missed practice with a leg injury and will be re-evaluated on Friday, according to Adrian Dater of The Denver Post.

The Avalanche skated to a 6-1 victory over the Anaheim Ducks last night, with 2013 first overall pick Nathan MacKinnon picking up a pair of assists, his first points in the National Hockey League.

And Colorado’s new head coach Patrick Roy re-asserted himself back in that market by getting into a confrontation with Ducks’ bench boss Bruce Boudreau at the end of the game.

On Thursday. Roy was fined $10,000 for his actions, while the war of words continued between the two clubs for the late melee at the benches.

Meanwhile, Landeskog is a key player on the Avalanche. He’s not only the captain, but he signed a seven-year contract extension that was reportedly worth $39 million.
