Avalanche-Ducks: Patrick Roy has words for Bruce Boudreau, Twitter erupts

Oct 3, 2013, 12:42 AM EDT

Twitter erupted Wednesday night at the conclusion of the Colorado Avalanche victory over the Anaheim Ducks.

The digital uproar was the result of a heated conversation – perhaps being a bit diplomatic about it – between Avalanche head coach Patrick Roy and Ducks coach Bruce Boudreau at the end of the game. Oh yeah, the Avalanche won by a score of 6-1.

The photo of the two coaches jawing between the benches was a screen grab, posted on Twitter by TSN’s Kate Beirness.

    Fun stuff! Hockey is back!

It is understandable Patrick Roy to be upset at Bruce Boudreau to think that he prevented it all to have Ben Lovejoy do what he did to Mackinnon. But to see how P. Roy reacted on the bench is NO SURPRISE.

Can bet this will create a rivalry between the two clubs now.

Well we know that Patrick Roy doesn’t want to ban fighting. He seems to want to expand it to include coaches…. boy its going to be fun watching him coach in the NHL.

Hahah yeah I was pretty convinced of that too right after he knock the middle glass down bangin on it tryin to get to Bruce. That was hilarious. It’s always exciting watchin him wether it was him playin or coaching hahah. I think he’s gonna be real good for the Avs. Especially with all there young talent

Hahaha well that didn’t take long. Good ole Patrick Roy at his finest. The Avs looked good tonight. McKinnon and O’Reilly looked real good

It’s Boudreau v Roy and Perry is one of the players backing him up? I’d step back if I were Bruce, too. Can’t wait til the Avs play the Flyers to see how those two match up.

That’s the heart n excitement we need after lasts year poor ending. With a coach that’s willing to show that kind of enthusiasm it could be a good year.

Even better, Mr. Offer Sheet O’Reilly tried to get in on it. There was no question that Roy would have the backs of his players (often wondered if Sacco even had a pulse), and it’s pretty clear that the players are going to have the backs of each other. This is the passion/intensity of Avalanche hockey, and it has been severely missed.

Avalanche hockey is back. Love it.

what better video is there than seeing Claude Lemiux and Roy get pounded. Roy has always been a punk ass whiny little girl….loved seeing him give up ELEVEN to the Wings and storm off like a jilted high school girl…

    • jernster21 - Oct 3, 2013 at 2:49 AM

Except Roy didn’t lose that fight. Osgood put up a better fight. Just sayin’.

Nice to see some idiot that could not play a lick of hockey give his 2 cents. Go back to what you do best, sitting in your lazyboy and surfing the internet.

Glad to see the Avalanche with some fire in their bellies. Too bad it happened right as the Wings moved to the Eastern Conference. That’s a rivalry that needs to get back to where it was in the late 90s.

    • jernster21 - Oct 3, 2013 at 12:39 PM

Could make for a good SC Finals someday.

      • joey4id - Oct 3, 2013 at 5:58 PM

How can 2 teams from the same conference play each other in the SCF?

      • jernster21 - Oct 3, 2013 at 10:07 PM

        Umm…

Avs = Western Conference, Wings = Eastern Conference. Is your mind blown?

It’s really too bad Pierre wasn’t there between the dividers…
