Video: Suter connects with Coyle on Wild breakaway

Sep 25, 2013, 11:56 PM EDT

Minnesota Wild defenseman Ryan Suter sent a beautiful breakout pass to young forward Charlie Coyle, who put on a great stop-start breakaway move to score this goal on Wednesday:

The Wild won tonight’s preseason game against the St. Louis Blues 3-1.

After the game, Minnesota head coach raved about Coyle, 21, to the Minneapolis Star-Tribune’s Michael Russo.

“I can’t say anything negative about his camp,” Yeo said. “He’s been outstanding.”

Especially on that breakaway.

fleury is much too divorced from reality if he even thinks about pulling off a hasek.

Wild look pretty solid after watching last night’s game. Shoulda been 4-1 had the refs been watching.

Rob Vollman posted a detailed article on SB Nation about some team stats he’s been working on to project team success. While it takes a lot of guts to post something really novel and to make detailed projections, he left many scratching their heads.

He has the Wild 20th in points, and obviously out of the playoffs, has the Blues 9th, Hawks 10th.

    WHAT?????

I personally have the Hawks, Blues, Wild and Stars in the Central in that order, all making the playoffs.

Don’t take it too personally Wild fans, he also has the Caps, Islanders and Ducks finishing worse than you.

What you may take personally is his ranking the Jets, Panthers, Coyotes, Preds and Jackets higher;)

    His top 11 are:
    Sen
    Devils (honest)
    Wings
    Rangers
    Flyers
    Kings
    Canadians
    Pens
    Blues
    Bruins
    Hawks

As someone who as closely and analytically followed the Hawks for 4 years (been a fan since seeing them twice in the 60′s, so don’t bring out the bandwagon nonsense, I’ve just learned all the internet resources for following hockey the last 4 years)

I’m doumbfounded by his ranking the Hawks 11th

I agree man, his rankings were absolutely ridiculous. I wouldn’t completely count the Devils out of the playoffs, they definitely have a chance but 2nd overall? No way. Also Sens as #1 and Flyers making that big of a jump? No idea what he was basing his predictions off.

Love this kid! He and Brodin are the future of the franchise, couldn’t ask for two better players to eventually build around!

    Thanks again, San Jose!! ;)
