Doan left Coyotes’ scrimmage early with muscle pull

Phoenix Coyotes captain Shane Doan came up a little wonky during Wednesday’s intra-squad scrimmage, but head coach Dave Tippett doesn’t seem too worried, AZ Central’s Sarah McLellan reports.

“He just had a muscle pull or something,” Tippett said. “I don’t think it’s too serious.”

Doan, 36, left halfway through the scrimmage and might not participate in Thursday’s practice.

The team’s sturdy captain isn’t one to miss many contests. He played in all of the Coyotes games last season and has played in at least 72 games since 1998-99. He’s missed almost as many games from suspensions as he has from various ailments the past few years.

Even so, a coach can’t be pretty vague when they call an issue “not too serious.”

Still, it at least sounds like the Coyotes long-tenured winger and beloved captain isn’t in too much jeopardy to miss the start of the regular season, if not some more preseason contests.

Yeah, go put a band aid on that boo-boo Doany …

because when you face 2013’s version of ‘blitzkrieg in ice’ next week, God help you and your little Coyote puppies ! … we Kings are in a ‘snarly’ mood right now and the least of our concerns is to grant quarter to a pansy like you ! … you, the liar Smith and the rest of your ‘fake’ team are going to be ‘crushed’ like freshly laid eggs under the tracks of a King Tiger ‘main’ battle tank !

    GO KINGS GO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So in your weird analogy the Kings are the Nazis?

Oh cease with your silly politics fool ! If it makes you any happier, then consider yourselves to be lowly ants on some sidewalk and we Kings to be M-1 Abrams ‘main’ battle tanks coming your way !!! :)

    Shane Doan fears no King

LOL ! … Did you notice the scoreboard in the top left corner ? … LA 4 – PHX 2 :)

Anyway, figures Doan goes after the one player on our team who isn’t over 6′ tall. I’d like to see him try that with Doughty, Mitchell, Nolan, Brown, Martinez, Fraser or Regher … he’d be flat on his back before he even knew what happened ! The bottom line pal is that we Kings are coming for you people this year and there’s going to be the devil to pay ! … no two ways about it !

You saw him throw Dustin Brown down and try to fight him right? Dustin ran away knowing he’s be beaten, Mike Richards stepped up (respectably might I add) but got beaten. I’m glad you have memorized the heights of your dive squad though, really impressed

Yes I did see that and I even ‘vaguely’ recall this incident from last year. If memory serves me correct however, I seem to remember that Brown was ‘seriously’ dazed by Doan’s vicious hit and therefore his subsequent decision-making was somewhat impaired ? I could be wrong, yet that’s what I recall …

ask and you shall receive Doan beating the crap out of Brown
