The Ottawa Senators have reached a deal with another of their young prospects, agreeing to a three-year entry-level deal with Curtis Lazar.

Lazar, 18, was the club’s first-round selection (17th overall) at the 2013 NHL Entry Draft.

The WHL Edmonton standout led the team in goals last season (38) and paced the Oil Kings to the league final, where they lost to Portland.

Lazar has been with the Senators in training camp, but missed some time to an upper-body injury.

The club reports he may make his preseason debut on Thursday when Ottawa hosts the Maple Leafs. That said, he’s a longshot to make the big club this year and seems destined to return to the Oil Kings — though the Sens might keep him around for a nine-game audition before sending him back to junior.
