Edmonton Oilers forward Jordan Eberle jokingly agreed to put on a Calgary Flames jersey during a recent interview. Not that it was anything more than Eberle and TSN’s Cabral Richards having fun, but of course it got a little more attention given that this week is the 25th anniversary of the Wayne Gretzky trade. Ryan Rupert, 19, was taken in the sixth round of the 2012 NHL Entry Draft, but he’s determined to “prove people wrong” and he’s doing a fine job of that as a member of Team Canada for USA Hockey’s world junior exhibition tournament. There are 20 forwards on Canada’s roster and 13 of them were selected in the first round. Rupert is both the shortest of them and the one that had to wait the longest to have his name called at the draft, but he’s impressed coach Brent Sutter. (Toronto Sun)
