Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick testifies before the House Energy Committee about the impact of the health care reform act on states during a hearing on Capitol Hill March 1, 2011 in Washington, DC. Best political sports bet in a long, long time.

shoulda bet for the rights to any copper piping they can grab in Detroit.

Detroit has enough trouble and doesn’t need to be the target of your bad joke. A little sensitivity is in order.

i’m sorry, had no clue my joke in a comments section of a hockey website would hurt the city of Detroit’s feelings. didn’t know it reads the PHT Morning Skate.

I NEVER want to see this hack’s face on PHT again! This clown isn’t helping Massachusetts at all, in fact, he’s making it worse! More corruption and lies from our elected officials….but hey, nothing new, right??

I come here for the enjoyment of HOCKEY. Leave the politics OUT OF IT. This is nothing more than face time for this bozo with his “presidential aspirations.”

This poseur can’t even name the Bruins starting line up! He’s not a Bruins fan and is a lousy governor. I can’t wait until he’s gone.

somebody seeing politics in a simple city-pride sporting bet may be taking it too far.

  3. amityvillefun - Jul 24, 2013 at 12:05 PM

Trust me, he didn’t do it because he “loves hockey” or is a “Bruins fan.” He did it to plaster his face around a little more.

Go drive your Caddy off a cliff Deval. Leave my hockey alone.

yeah but look at what they wagered… volunteer work at food banks. Quinn, although he won the bet, still volunteered at the Chicago food bank. that fact probably would have gone both ways. if Patrick won the bet, he’d probably be right there with Quinn in the bank. it was good natured, whether he watches hockey every night or not. you don’t have to be a super-fan of every major sports team to be a fan of your city and promote volunteerism. just saying.

Yeah, but his motives suck. If he cared about about people, he’d actually help the state he got elected in. This is a PR move – nothing more.

Congrats to Chicago, no problem at all there, but Menino and Patrick should just leave the “bread and circuses” to the surfs… They got their noses in everything else!

you sure have a lot of rhetoric…

  5. amityvillefun - Jul 24, 2013 at 2:14 PM

You like it when your hard earned money is given away to illegals and people unwilling to work a job? That’s what this guy does.

Which is why I resent his ugly face on this site! He knows NOTHING about hockey – and here he is…

Someone sick Matt Cooke on this guy.
