The Winnipeg Jets have re-signed center Bryan Little to a five-year, $23.5 million contract, avoiding arbitration with the 25-year-old.

Little had seven goals and 25 assists for the Jets in 2013, appearing in all 48 regular-season games and winning a team-high 431 faceoffs. His $4.7 million cap hit is the second highest among forwards on the club, behind only Evander Kane ($5.25 million.)

The Jets still have two key restricted free agents headed toward arbitration — d-man Zach Bogosian and forward Blake Wheeler.

Wow! A lot of money for a potential 15 goal scorer.

It’s deals like this that makes the Flyer’s deal with Vinny look good.

That contract is gonna look a bit silly if and when Scheifele takes over the 1st line. Little is getting Marchand/Hartnell/Pominville money now. Hopefully he takes a leap forward.
