Video: Contestants for Hockey Fights’ best bout of 2013

Jul 10, 2013, 9:45 PM EDT

For a little more than a week, the Internet’s best pugilism index Hockey Fights.com has been collecting votes for a variety of 2013 season awards. (Feel free to peruse the list here, as there are some entertaining categories.)

The headliner, of course, is “Fight of the Year.” So far, a March 27 bout between Patrick Bordeleau and Brian McGrattan lead the pack, but let’s roll out all the contestants:

Colton Orr vs. Deryk Engelland, Jan. 23:

Aaron Volpatti vs. Matt Beleskey, Jan. 27:

This year’s “Vincent Lecavalier vs. Jarome Iginla,”: Jamie Benn vs. Joe Thornton, Feb. 23:

Bordeleau vs. McGrattan, March 27:

Eric Boulton vs. Colton Orr, April 18:

According to this list, McGrattan was involved in 2011-12’s best fight (vs. Jay Rosehill), while Boulton took the 2010-11 award for his bit of fisticuffs against John Erskine. So legacies are clearly on the line, here, folks.

One other side note: Benn vs. Thornton isn’t likely to win, but it produced one of the best photos of the abbreviated regular season (via Getty):
