PHT’s Morning Skate takes a look around the world of hockey to see what’s happening and what we’ll be talking about around the NHL world and beyond.

So this isn’t exactly timely anymore, but in belated honor of Independence Day, here’s a list of the top best American-born players from the 2013 campaign. (Sporting News)

If the Stars system doesn’t require their centers to battle in the corners or win many faceoffs, and instead just hover around the net and pick up the garbarge, Seguin should do just fine. If they require commitment and toughness and battle from corner to corner without cheating he will struggle.

This deal hinges on two points–whether Seguin will take it to the next level, and whether the bevy of young talent the B’s got back will do well. I still can’t believe the B’s did it, but it’s a defensible move. They filled the hole at RW, cut salary, and now have a ton of AHL talent that is cost-controlled.

AHL is about the level the Bruins will be next season.
