The San Jose Sharks acquired forward Tyler Kennedy from the Pittsburgh Penguins yesterday. It looks like that move might impact restricted free agent TJ Galiardi.

The Sharks have put the 25-year-old forward on the trading block, according to a CSN Bay Area source.

Galiardi had five goals and 14 points in 36 games last season. He’s coming off of a one-year, $950,000 contract.

San Jose acquired Galiardi, Daniel Winnik, and a seventh round pick from the Colorado Avalanche in 2012 in exchange for Jamie McGinn, Mike Connolly, and Michael Sgarbossa.

A little bit surprising, I thought he played extremely well down the stretch. If he does go, he’ll need to be replaced

Kennedy doesn’t replace him because we’re weak down the wings, strong every where else

TJ played on a line with Thornton and Burns, size doesnt matter so much when you have those 2 big bodies on a line with you

Well that trade worked out well for San Jose.

A second rounder for a playoff scratch? He might be worth that to the Sharks, but he wasn’t to the Penguins. The gave up more than they had to. Shero strikes again.

Shero gave 2 2nd rd picks for Douglas Murray..remember lol. Haha Kennedy is gonna have more minutes on ice than in PIT bottom line.

Haha fair enough. I just think the Sharks could have gotten him for less. The Penguins didn’t consider Kennedy one of their top 12 forwards for much of the playoffs. That makes me think they would have taken less than a second rounder for him.
