Bruins general manager Peter Chiarelli has confirmed that he’s taken calls about 21-year-old forward Tyler Seguin; however, it’s not clear if a trade is imminent or Chiarelli is just testing the market.

“We’ve been taking some calls on Tyler, and I let his agent (Ian Pulver) know that yesterday,” said Chiarelli, per CSN New England. Look, I’ve got a lot of balls in the air including negotiations, and that stuff is going to leak out.

“When it leaked out that we were talking calls on Seguin, then we got a deluge of calls. It’s the power of Twitter, I guess. Then when [Nathan Horton] said he wasn’t coming back, they stopped. Self-correcting, I guess.”

Late last night, rumors started flying that the B’s were working on a deal with Calgary that would involve the Flames’ sixth overall pick. That speculation is still out there, so stay tuned to see if anything comes of it.

Not sure I would waste a second of time talking to Calgary about a trade after the debacle with Iginla. Unless Chiarelli just wants to f with them….

it was iginla’s call where he wanted to go the Flames like bostons deal better than Pittsburgh

Yeah no kidding. Dropthepuckeh nailed it.

Maybe after a lot of leaks saying Seguin to Calgary is a sure thing he will at the last second get traded to Dallas.

Agree on Calgary and Feaster – not to be trusted.

The Bruins have no right wingers if you assume a Peverly buy out, Horton leaving, and moving on from Jagr. Well, Thornton is one, but he’s limited. They need to get more right wingers and not look to trade the best one on their roster.

I don’t think they are buying anyone out – not even Peverly. Sounds like they wanted to see if they could get a ridiculous trade or otherwise light a fire under Seguin. Lecavalier indicated he would be willing to play RW for Bruins…..
