PHT’s Morning Skate takes a look around the world of hockey to see what’s happening and what we’ll be talking about around the NHL world and beyond.

Could Mike Modano really make a comeback at the age of 43? It seems doubtful, but new Stars coach Lindy Ruff didn’t want to rule it out. (Dallas Morning News)

Finally, here’s a video of two bars — one in Boston and one in Chicago — as they simultaneously react to the key moments of Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Final:

I consider several commenters on here more reliable than any espn article on hockey

Joe McDonald posted a story a couple days ago with the Bruins Top 10 things to focus on the offseason. I made it halfway thru #1 which was to resign Tuukka where Joe claimed the starting point for Rask negotiations would be at 8.5M per year… Then I quickly closed the tab and came over here…

Dear God. Do they think Glen Sather is the Bruins’ GM?

If Vinny wants to maintain his sanity and quality of life he better stay away from Montreal. He could get the same money if not more than anywhere else., and Montreal is the most taxed city in NA. The french media scrums around him would be absolutely unbearable. Run Vinny! Run! Colorado might be a good fit. He could take McKinnon under his wing and help him adjust to the pros. But, I suppose that would cause a congestion at center.

The pressure of a home grown Quebec star to perform in Montreal is huge, and over the years many players have turned down the chance to play for the Habs (Danny Briere), or requested a trade out of Montreal (Pierre Turgeon). Having played in a low key hockey town such as Tampa Bay, I don’t think that Vinny would now want the fish bowl atmosphere of playing in Montreal.

I know this sounds a bit off, but I would love for the Wild to make a move for him. Let Cullen walk, buy out Gilbert and they now have a quality 1/2 punch at center. Koivu and Vinny.

Orange and Black would look nice…….

Dany Heatley needs to heal up FAST.

  5. joeharkins - Jun 28, 2013 at 9:09 AM

    Lecavalier to LA …

  6. clefty1 - Jun 28, 2013 at 9:13 AM

Lecavalier would look great sporting the Winged Wheel. The Wings were one of his two favorite teams growing up and he would be a great second line center plus Babcock could play Pav and Z together.

I’m a Bolts fan and think Vinny would be great on the Wings. But they’re in the same division next season. I guess it would be cool to see him several times a year, but wouldn’t be great to have him kicking our ass!

  7. dboldave - Jun 28, 2013 at 9:47 AM

As a Bruins fan I can only say that I hope he doesn’t go to Montreal!

  8. rpiotr01 - Jun 28, 2013 at 10:54 AM

I’m sure Tortorella would love the opportunity to bench Vinny in Vancouver.

  9. 19to77 - Jun 28, 2013 at 11:21 AM

Wings and Leafs seem like the most obvious choices. He’d be a quality #2C for the Wings and an upgrade for the Kessel line in Toronto (in both cases assuming he can stay healthy). I wonder what his salary expectations are like?

Hard to tell… but both of those bars are in Chicago.
