The NHL handed out a few other 2013 awards on Friday, so let’s review the remaining winners.

Boston Bruins forward Patrice Bergeron won the 2012-13 King Clancy Trophy, an award given “to the player who best exemplifies leadership on and off the ice and who has made a noteworthy humanitarian contribution to his community.”

Detroit Red Wings forward Henrik Zetterberg took the 2012-13 NHL Foundation Player Award, which “recognizes the NHL player who applies the core values of hockey – commitment, perseverance and teamwork – to enrich the lives of people in his community.”

The league’s press release describes what Zetterberg will do with the winnings:

The NHL Foundation will present $25,000 to the Zetterberg Foundation to help fund the creation of three water stations in Kemba, Ethiopia, and provide 1,900 people with clean water for a lifetime. This donation will enable more children in the village to attend school as opposed to spending their days walking hours to get water for their families.

Finally, Daniel Alfredsson won the 2012-13 Mark Messier Leadership Award, described as “the player who exemplifies great leadership qualities to his team, on and off the ice during the regular season.”
