Boston could have a big problem in the Stanley Cup Final.

Bruins coach Claude Julien says forward Nathan Horton is day-to-day with a suspected arm or shoulder injury suffered late in last night’s Game 1.

Horton was injured in the closing minutes of the first overtime last night and did not return to action. He’s been teamed up on a line with his usual mates in David Krejci and Milan Lucic. Tyler Seguin took his spot on that line after leaving the game.

If Horton can’t go in Game 2, Seguin will need to break out of his playoffs-long funk in order to help the Bruins even-up the series. With Gregory Campbell out and now possibly Horton, Julien has some big decisions awaiting him on how to replace his top right winger.

Gotta be more than day-to-day given that he begged off during a power play and didn’t come back through two OTs. :(

even if horton was worse than ‘day to day’, julien isn’t going to tip his hand 3 days ahead of game 2

        Exactly!

Absolutely–I’m just not looking forward to having him out for the rest of the finals.

Sounds stupid but as a Hawks fan I want him to play. It’s the Championship, I want our best players vs their best players. I know he is a very dangerous goal scorer with some grit but that’s what makes the Cup so fun to watch. I don’t want to see a depleted Bruins team vs a healthy Hawks team. I know no one is fully healthy right now but you guys get the point.

Throw Soderberg on the 3rd line for a game…. That line can’t get much worse.

Oh, come on, hockey gods. What is it you have against Nathan Horton playing in the SCF?

Hope he’s back soon! Aaron Rome screwed him out of the chance to play a full series last time. The man deserves a chance.

I hope Chara is okay after that big dive to ‘draw’ a penalty.

I just hope Shaw doesn’t have whip-lash from embellishment.

And I hope your sense of pride can endure another 43 years without a Cup.

Since, you know, Vancouver’s not winning jack sh*t anytime soon.

Definitely time to bring in sodoberg! ! I’d line to see seguin back with bergie and Marchand and jagr on the hulk line.

    Just anyone but Pandolfo.

I agree with Jagr on the hulk line. Him working the corners will be good for Lucic and Krejci. Let Seguin fly with Marchand and Bergeron.

    • bigbadbruins77 - Jun 13, 2013 at 10:45 PM

I agree 100 %! Plus Jagr is a big guy and a play maker, I think he would do really well with Krej and Looch! and you are correct, time to get bergie marchy and segs back together, that will get Segs going and they are all FAST and play great D together. GO BRUINS!! get one in Chicago!

too bad, sad to see this …i also am a hawks fan, but have watched a lot of BRUINS hockey and this young guy seems like a very nice person. hopefully he can get back into the SCF ! nothing worse for a usually starting player to be watching from the press box! good luck nate !
