Make no mistake about it: Raffi Torres hopes that his time with the San Jose Sharks won’t end up being short.

The 31-year-old was clear about that point to CSNBayArea.com’s Kevin Kurz, who believes the team should re-sign him.

“It’s not going to be hard to make a decision to stay here. They know I want to,” Torres said. “It’s a great group of guys in here, starting with Joe [Thornton] and right down to [Logan Couture], and the goaltending. It’s just a good group of guys, and it would be a good place to win here.”

Joe Thornton is definitely on board with Torres playing for San Jose some more.

“We hope he comes back. He’s a great player,” Thornton said. “He’s a great addition that Doug made … Just a real good guy. A good guy, a good team guy. Just a fun guy to be around, as well.”

As long as you keep your head up.

I definitely don’t want him playing against the sharks. I would like him to be resigned. The Kings series would have been much different had he been able to play. Get it done Wilson

Spot on comment on the Kings series, Torres was on a productive 3rd line with Pavelski and after his suspension TMac had to adjust the lines. Pavs moved up to the second line and the 3rd and 4th lines were held without a goal in the series, clearly a difference.

Hockey can do without players that play like Torres, hockey won’t miss him. SJ should consider a block buster deal with thorton while he maybe worth something. He certainly fails in the leadership department and what happened in game seven? I hardly heard his name mentioned when it counted with his aw shucks style of play, there is no cup future with him on the team. I say package him, maybe with Torres

So if a captain ever goes quiet in a game its reason enough to trade him? Didnt think so, go take a lap

quiet in a game is that what you call it? what about post season, what about all of the post seasons while at the shark tank? You should have had a cup by now or at least a strong steady contender for one….Mediocrity won’t get you one, your not paying JT for mediocrity, yet you seem satisfied with going quiet in a game 7. My point was get some players and a captain that mediocrity or being quiet is not acceptable. get someone who is hungry and the 3rd and 4th lines will be inspired.

I’m fine if you disagree with me, but if you want to win a cup, you may have to look elsewhere for hungry talented players, rather than someone who looks forward to his place with the hart trophy and he’s not getting any younger

Torres had 17 PIM all season. 17.
