Video: Crosby, Penguins’ PP continue to struggle

Jun 5, 2013, 9:29 PM EDT

With the Pittsburgh Penguins down 2-0 in a series while suffering from a 9-1 scoring differential going into Wednesday’s Game 3, it’s not surprising that the Boston Bruins have generated some awful stats for their opponents.

Still, some of the numbers are a little disturbing at the moment. That’s especially true for Sidney Crosby (zero points), Evgeni Malkin (also zero points) and the Penguins’ power play (0-for-9 as of this writing).

During the first intermission, Mike Milbury breaks down the Penguins’ struggling man advantage while Keith Jones goes in-depth about Crosby’s struggles:

NHL = WWE. Bettman wants this series extended. Can’t have the Canadian Golden Child swept. What Bettman doesn’t know is he has created a villain. So peeps will watch. Everyone wants to see a villain go down. But he will draw ratings…

Boston can’t even get a PP on home ice…

Crosby is a villain? That’s ridiculous… unless you are a bad guy for being the best in the world. And I’m a flyers fan.

Refs got the memo they are trying to give those crying rapists the game. Pittsburg is just so bad they still can’t win

It’s the David Stern/ Gary Bettman school of let’s help even the series. Pathetic.

The 2009 Caps were victims. I hope that the 2013 Bruins are not.

He just has to step on the ice and he scores……no?
