Quick admits he didn’t get the job done

Jun 2, 2013, 11:19 PM EDT

Los Angeles Kings goalie Jonathan Quick might not have won Game 1, but he instilled a lot of doubt into shooters’ minds coming into Sunday’s Game 2 nonetheless. His evening ended up being as rough as it was short, though, as you can see.

Quick didn’t hesitate to accept the blame following that defeat, as CSN Chicago’s Nina Falcone reports.

“They did their job at home, now we have to go do our job at home,” Quick said. “I haven’t done my job on the road.”

The Kings are indeed 1-7 away from Los Angeles, yet it’s unfair to lay it all at the 27-year-old netminder’s feet.

Blackhawks head coach Joel Quenneville provided interesting perspective on his opponents’ goaltender, according to the Chicago Sun-Times’ Mark Lazerus.

“I still think that’s going to be an ongoing challenge with him,” Quenneville said. “Some nights it goes in.”

It was strange to see Quick giving up the 5 hole… I’m expecting a very tight low scoring game 3.

Last I checked 5 hole was between the legs…. I know 2 of the goals were stick side. The one that was credited to Bickell was off Regehr’s backhand and kind of a flu key goal. Thought Hands us went stick side as well.

Seabrook and the Bickell goal were both 5 hole…

The Kings are not the team they were last year. Quick cant win every game for them. He is human and will have bad games. Kings are just sitting back and playing D and hoping Quick bails them out. That might work with the Blues & Sharks but not the Hawks. Hawks are way too fast and can match Kings in defense. Not saying Kings are done but if they expect Quick to do everything it will be a short series. GO HAWKS

To hell with tonight, as we ‘real’ King’s fans ‘know and love’ Quickie as the ‘best’ of the best today, bar none. Coach Sutter will have him back in game 3 in LA, fear not friends. And man, are these ‘brassieres’ from Chicago ever going to be ‘violated’ come Tuesday night eh ? … we could be talking of upwards of 10 x goals ‘against’ these freaks Crawford and Emery ! … I absolutely love it man ! :) Anyway, Jagger and crew are ‘assholes’ for making us Kings play every ‘five minutes’ there in Chicago in-order to accommodate their stupid Monday night concert. I mean seriously, what kind of suck-hole goes to a Monday night concert anyway ? So FU ‘glimmer twins’ as I used to seriously love you guys, but now you make me sick … and FU you too Watts while we’re at it !

*** Eat ‘S’ Jagger … the Beatles were ‘always’ the best ! ***

You are just baiting with stupidity and need a better hobby.

Your use of quotes has your “English” teacher presumably rolling in their “grave”. Learn the English language pal. Don’t give that whiney ass excuse for having to play back to backs. The other team had to as well. The Beatles are the most over rated, monotone, boring boy band that has ever been called rock and roll. The Stones love em hate em or indifferent, have actually done something in the last 40 years. Not to mention more energetic and actually entertain when they perform. But, the most hysterical part of yet another rant is you thinking the Kings could actually score 10 or more goals. Do yourself a favor, stop talking. Just making yourself and the other hundred or so Kings fans look like you have concussions.

Man, if they require him to be flawless 4 of the next five games to have a chance (and–at this point–they do), I’m not big on their chances.
