Video: Mark Eaton takes puck to face

Jun 1, 2013, 9:59 PM EST

It’s unclear how many Pittsburgh Penguins players who’ve been hit in the face with pucks lately, but the team would probably just say “too many.”

Defenseman Mark Eaton is the latest player to add to the list, as he was the unlucky recipient of deflected vulcanized rubber to the mug:

If you’re keeping tabs on this sort of thing, Eaton doesn’t wear a visor.

    Ouch!

Watching the game with wifey and she says, “If I were playing I’d miss most of the game because I’d be flinching half the time.”

The NHL just needs to make face shields mandatory. Some of these guys don’t make the best decisions for themselves.

Visor would not have helped here. Looked like it hit him below the ear.

Yep, but some would care anyway.
