Video: Sharks benefit from delay of game penalty

The San Jose Sharks lost Game 2 by allowing two straight goals after Marc-Edouard Vlasic‘s polarizing delay of game penalty gave the Los Angeles Kings a 5-on-3 power play.

They can’t say that the controversial rule has been nothing but bad news for them, however, as they seized an early lead in Game 3 on Saturday by scoring a power-play goal of their own after Jake Muzzin was whistled for the same infraction:

The NBC SN telecast points out that teams have scored on 20 percent of the power plays they’ve received thanks to this type of penalty.
